- Public Health recommissioned its community sexual and reproductive health service in November 2021, resulting in an award winning transformed service providing a multiple access point model under a co-ordinated city-wide brand (Axess Sexual Health) <\/span>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n
- An innovative and revamped NHS Health Check programme restarted in Liverpool in October 2022, using a proportionate universalism model to allow greater focus on delivering Health Checks in higher deprivation quintiles for patients who are at risk of cardiovascular disease. This new model is already having an impact with greater reach into more deprived communities. <\/span>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n
- Service transformation and improvement plans are in place for other public health services such as smoking cessation, 0-19 healthy child programme, and addiction services, to ensure people in need of these services receive the best possible support in as efficient and effective way as\u00a0possible.\u00a0<\/span>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n
- Public Health provides system leadership for population health under the One Liverpool Programme. Our population health skills (evidence, public health epidemiology, evaluation of impact at population level, economics and value for money, outcomes based commissioning) are supporting the One Liverpool Programme to set the strategy for population health for the city, and also supports wider Cheshire and Merseyside health care partnership developments <\/span>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n
- Public Health are also supporting Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in the city to develop a framework for population health management delivered through primary care, with a focus on addressing inequalities.\u00a0 This is being developed through a partnership between the Public Health GP inequalities lead, and the PCNs themselves <\/span>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n
- Public Health have established the Liverpool Marmot Partnership Group (LMPG), working to embed marmot principles in the work of the city and in stakeholders strategic plans, with the intention of achieving Marmot Community status <\/span>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n
- The Good Food Plan has been published, and Public Health are working in partnership with Feeding Liverpool to bring the plan to life <\/span>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n
- <\/span>Liverpool\u2019s \u2018Kind To Your Mind\u2019 mental health campaign and \u2018Reach Out\u2019 suicide awareness campaign were launched with <\/span>a positive impact<\/span>. <\/span><\/span>An<\/span> initial evaluation of the \u2018Reach Out\u2019 <\/span>campaign showed that approximately <\/span>50 crisis calls were<\/span> prevented<\/span>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n
- Liverpool’s COVID-19 response was recognised nationally and helped steer national policy decisions, including SMART testing, test and release, shielding, care homes, vaccination inequalities approaches, and relaunching live music and football events jointly with Liverpool City Council’s Culture team as part of the events research programme<\/span><\/li>\n
- <\/span>The Public Health <\/span>team was<\/span> shortlisted for a<\/span> National Association of Directors of Public Health (ADPH)<\/span> Innovation Award, and the Director of Public Health, Matthew Ashton, was <\/span>awarded the ADPH\/ Chief Medical Officer National Impact Award, as well as the<\/span> Faculty of Public Health Presidential Medal for achievements in public health. The previous two<\/span> Public Health Annual Reports have also<\/span> won report of the year. <\/span>\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
